Hi everyone. I have read all these posts and now i actually have a question. I got Canopus Procoder2 and am having a problem with the HSAP driver. Everytime i click the Procoder Icon on my desktop, it gives me the error that it cannot find the driver. I am also wonder what does a dongle have to do with using this software? Am i missing something and could someone help me out. I would really appreciate it. Thanks@@

for the driver\aspi problem you would have to reinstall the software. as for the dongle??
a dongle is a piracy protection device exactly like a serial number only harder to bypass. some copies of procoder don’t require a dongle

hope that helps you out!!

No, sorry but Mp3 are audio files. mp4 and others each have their own properties and specialties

To convert AVI’s (be them true avi or not) You need DIVX to DVD (http://www.vso-software.fr/divxtodvd/divxtodvd2.htm) You do have to pay for it!!
Im sure however, the totally unrelated word “torrent” is of no help what so ever...

This is a very good program, it has an in build burning tool, but does not allow you to make menu’s etc on your disc, but it does insert chapters.

I hope this helps -=BliTz=-

Cmon guys. I just got my Nero DVD burner in the mail from Tiger Direct with Nero Burning 6 and I got to tell you techno weenies. It was easy as pie to convert my avi files into m-peg2. And I got to tell you. Listen, your files DO NOT have to be in .ifo .vob or .bup to burn a DVD video. All you have to do is use Nero Vision 2. Go to make a DVD and then go to the DVD-R selection. Then just import the video files that you want to convert and then export it to a folder that it will let you select. After it goes through the files and determines the stream length, which if you are doing a full movie of about an hour and a half, it will take about the amount of time the movie would run when you watch it. But after that nothing else in the process is time consuming. Then all you have to do is go to the Nero DVD Burning program and go to make a DVD. Then just import the converted avi into m-peg2 into your DVD project page (which is the same page that opens after you select to make a DVD). It will take a few minutes for it to calculate the disc space needed on the DVD then after that click next. Create your desired DVD Menu and continue on. Then You should come to the Burn Configuration Screen. Now this may look complicated but, Nero is good in this department with having the default settings being the safest. So all you have to do is click on burn and BAMO YOUR BURNING THE CONVERTED M-PEG FROM AVI ONTO A DVD AND WILL BE ABLE TO WATCH IT IN YOUR DVD PLAYER. You guys and all your 3rd party programs.... its sad that you would download those programs and risk spyware when every program you need is available on nero.com for FREE if your burner didnt already come with them! I CONSIDER MYSELF NOOB AT THIS STUFF AND YET I FIGURED OUT HOW TO DO IT WITHIN AN HOUR OF GETTING MY DAMN BURNER. Think before you freak.

I thought id just let u know that nero 6 is alot different from 5 or 5.5 with 6 it is easy to burn but with 5 and 5.5 you will have to convert your files from avi to .ifo .vob or .bup to burn them. You can only use the nero that came with your burner! So if you only got 5.5 you will have to use that. Happy Burningsmiley

I realize that the topic is avi. and wma. conversion to ifo, vob or bup. I have mastered conversion process and will post it in a day or two. In the mean time, here is the simpliest way to BACKUP your original DVD’s. First, download dvd decrypter from http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/dvddec.htm.
Then, download a copy of DVD Shrink from http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm. They are both free programs. Start by decoding the DVD with DVD Decrypter. Once finished, shrink the copy with DVD Shrink. Once finished, you can use your favorite DVD making program such as Nero or Roxio to burn the files to a DVD.

I will post the other conversion process when I have more time as it is a longer process. Hope this helps some of you.

hey, not sure if this would work, but you can try Xilisoft DVD creator, I’m waiting for it to finish creating a dvd that I made using avi files that I had downloaded, its worth a look. The demo version is free and creates 30min output files, but I’m sure theres a way around paying for the license key. wink

nero xpress will do all of what you are trying to do...it will make the file smaller to fit on the disc...although there will be some degrading in quality

I recently found Canopus Procoder 2 via Limewire, including a crack for the USB dongle protection schemed. It worked fine..
