If you need to convert an avi file to a dvd the easiest way that I found that works is to use WinAVI.

just to help out most movies you download avi ect need to be converted. google vso dvix to dvd this program works great once you download it use sorce file then find where your movie is then select it once it’s there go to where it says aspect leave that one but under that it says standerd you need to click on the drop down and slect force nts 29.97fps once that is done hit convert and your movie shoud preview in the window this means its converting. once this is done a message will pop up that says converting complete click ok and a screen will pop open with your converted movie in it. now all you need to do is burn the movie using and dvd buring program i use clone dvd ive done well over 300 movies useing this program also divix to dvd works great for putting cd1 and cd2 files tougher

Moron! Do NOT use “Create Data DVD” use Create “DVD-Video” and just drag and drop the files from the original “VIDEO_TS” into the red one in Nero and burn the results. Personally, I use ImgBurn, but if you prefer to waste a bunch of time go ahead. Just do it correctly. I don’t deal with that illegal torrent shit either. It’s for losers.

Using advice I found in this thread, I converted my .avi file using WinAVI and now want to burn the movie onto a DVD-R. I have CloneDVD 2, but it doesn’t seem to be working for me. I entered the directory that my files are in, put in a DVD and told it to go as directed, but just got a message saying that writing to video media was not successful due to unexpected error. It says to make sure that all input files are available and that they represent a properly mastered DVD.

My CloneDVD 2 is fully updated, so I know that isn’t the problem. I have never done this before and so don’t know what the problem could be. Am I doing something wrong? Any help appreciated... you can’t find this movie in stores and I really want to have it!

I downlaoded a movie from torrent and the file I downloaded is .AVI but no programs seem to recognize the file as .AVI or anything else. I do not understand how to get from .torrent to a file that is convertible (i.e. .torrent to .AVI so that I can convert from .AVI to .ISO and burn). Where am I going wrong?
