Okay... friend has an Mpeg (Layer 2) he’s trying to burn...
He’s using WinAVI in an attempt to convert the Mpeg into a DVD format (when it converts, it saves it in a folder with the Audio_TS and Video_TS.)
Last time he tried to convert it, it got stuck at 99%.
He went ahead and tried to burn it in nero anyways, but got the error “The device you’re trying to burn you file to isn’t acceptable."
ANY help with this (i.e. what file to convert it to in WinAVI or any possible errors or required add-ons with the Nero burner) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hi, ive had this same problem with winAVI stopin at *whatever* %, ive never atempted to burn it after its f**ked up tho, can i ask if this happens with evry file you try to convert or just the one? As when this has happened to me i just encode it again and it seens to convert 100%, but i do sometimes get files that winAVI wont convert and for then il use DVDsanta (takes longer tho) or TMGenc. If anyone can tell us why winAVI sometimes does this tho would be great. Hope this helps

yea how can u just burn the mpeg2 wiout convertin it gotta be somways
Hi
first of all DVD video is mpeg2 file so u don’t have to convert the file format to any other format. If combined bitrate of video is between 1691-8000 kbps u can directly burn the video to a dvd video using either nero visionexpress or adobe encore DVD or other DVD authoring software.
Hope this will help u
