I just burned a movie onto a DVD-R disc. It plays on my computer after I downloaded DivX, but it won’t play on my TV through my DVD player. This is what shows up instead:

When I click on video, nothing shows up. When I click on pictures, I can see the pictures, but still no video. Again, it plays fine through Windows Media Player on my laptop. How can I make it able to play on my DVD player? I’m using an Apex 2500 DVD player and Memorex DVD-R discs if that makes any difference..

DVD movie is encoded by MPEG2 standard. And your video will be converted into .IFO, .VOB,.BUP files.
If you just wanna enjoy your video on dvd player, it’s unnecessary to know details about this. There are tons of smart DVD burner, like this video to dvd creator. They can convert video files to dvd files and burn them onto blank dvd disc by a few clicks.

Hope it helps.
