one dvd combo drive and can't burn any dvds to another

I just bought a Dell Computer and it has a dvd burner... I can’t burn any dvds at all... Am I missing something? I click on make a copy disk and it don’t work than I tried make a dvd-video and I also tried it by VCD.... Help... I really don’t knO much about computers and I only have one disk drive on here instead of two

Is it possible to put a prerecorded dvd in one drive and burn it to another dvd drive at the same time?
