MPG and MPeG files

My friend can copy his mpg and mpeg files to a cd-rw and cd-r and it plays on his portable dvd player would the same happen on my stand alone dvd player that supports all types of discs?

Could’t it b much more easier if U ask ur friend’s how he did it?!!!!

I have already and he wasn’t sure that is why i am asking you lot here.
