hi everybody & wish u all a very happy new year.well i agree with that. That a portable dvd player must b available which can be carried easily like a ipod or walkman and is powered by 4 AA batteries and can play movies & MP3 at least for 2.5 hours continuously.

Hi,

Was searching the net for writing MP3s to DVD. Looks like some posts tell of Players not able to read MP3s on DVD.
I bought a DVD player ( I am in Bangalore, India) ONIDA make, model # 8520. I burned a DVD+R (Moserbear make) using nero. made it multi-session. the player was able to play the MP3 but i lost the "programming" feature where you can add songs to a list for the player to play ( i have burned 875 songs; typical song is 6 min 30s)

anyone knows how to burn MP3 DVD ?

No,ok you cant play a dvd with mp3s on a cd player,we all got that but if a cd player came out to play mp3 dvds, that would be the shit.Maybe the only reason reason why its not done yet its cause mp3 player companies would go down hill, thats the only thing I can think of.

here is the solution....

Create a directory called AUDIO_TS and drop all your MP3’s under it and burn the directory with all it’s content to your DVD disk.

okay, is there a way that i can make an audio cd using a normal 4.7GB DVD-R that can play on any regular CD player?

to put it simpler, i want this:
i want to make a cd that plays my music
i want it to work with any normal CD player
i want to use my 4.7GB DVD-R

is this too much to ask? i mean it seems simple enough but apparently it is not... if anyone at all has a solution to my problem, PLEASE, PLEASE E-mail me at

it is sad, oh well , never mind. smiley

the laser to read CD is different to the laser to read DVD

A CD player will only have the one laser, a DVD player will have both lasers so it can read a CD and a DVD.

Ok lets get a couple things straight,
1) No dvd will play in an mp3 player

2) Companies just started releasing the technology about a year ago that allows mp3-DVD’s to be played in their DVD players, the problem itself lies within how a dvd player reacts to a dvd. When it recongizes a cd (MP3 or not) its internal program switches to that of say a sheft stereo, but when it recongnizes the dvd, it starts looking for the video and audio files both and has no code written to even recognize the MP3 format. There for in most dvd players it says unrecognized disk or something like that.

3) There is a patch for nero that allows cd-r’s to be seen as dvd’s and will actually burn the 4.7GB of MP3’s onto the disk, though sometime they skip on about every other song, and most of the time the quality of the music is kinda poor but still an interesting fact none the less.

why do ppl keep asking how to play DVD MP3’s on CD players?

ITS IN THE SECOND or THIRD POST!!

A CD PLAYER ONLY READ CD FORMAT..

YOU NEED A DVD PLAYER, like a HOME DVD PLAYER OR COMPUTER...

if you buy a DVD PLAYER DECK then you can play DVD MP3’s!!!

Hardcase Thread this one.

THERE IS NO “patch for nero that allows cd-r’s to be seen as dvd’s and will actually burn the 4.7GB of MP3’s onto the disk,..."

thats just a load of crapola.

WRONG!!!!
“if you buy a DVD PLAYER DECK then you can play DVD MP3’s!!"

not all dvd players will play DVD MP3’s

have any of u guys tried this one yet...

it’s a portable dvd player that plays divx and xvid movies (although from the review it sounds like it sucks)...but one guy said that it can play mp3s burnt onto a dvd, only the lcd is incapable of telling what number you’re on and has no real system of folder organization.

Purchaced a CITIZEN (Canada) brand DVD player. It plays DVD mp3’s just fine. I don’t care much for the truncated file names on the video display, but
what the hell it was cheap.

Hi,

AlightBall, thanks for your reply (post #145). i tried doing as you mentioned (all mp3 songs in a folder named AUDIO_TS). The DVD player plays the MP3 in the DVD+R but i am still not able to get to play it in the sequence i want. Anymore ideas in this matter ? thanks in advance..
