Some of you guys are not very nice to newbies. You seem to have already forgotten that you, too, were newbies once. Perhaps you should learn some basic manners, and not be so impatient. You know who you are. To Toney : yes, it is true that CD players can’t play DVDs, and not all DVD players can pl;ay DVD mp3 disks. But some do. Right now, I am listening to an mp3 DVD which I created as a data disk. I am playing it with an Onkyo DV-SP501 component DVD player. I am actually looking for an mp3-DVD alarm clock right now, and in the process have found out that most of the player can’t do this trick yet. I heard a rumour that JVC is about to market one which will feature what I have been told will be called “Mega mp3”, which is exactly this feature. I think the best thing is to take one of your mp3 DVD disks into a hifi store and check it out for yourself. I’m sure the sales people would be happy to let you try. As for car entertainment, you might want to check out the units that will play mp3 from memory sticks : the latest sticks I am aware of are up to 16 GB already, at a reasonable price. That’s a lot more than you can fit on a DVD (4.7 GB for a standard DVD disk). Actually one more thing : I have found that, although DVD players usually play CDs, the quality is often compromised for some reason I have not bothered to track down yet. But there is definitely noticeable distortion when I play some original CD disks on my DVD unit (which play perfectly and clearly on my CD player) ??? Hope that helps. M.

Hearing about someone trying to play a dvd in a cd player is comedy...

Ive tested 7 different burning programs...I created 14 dvd’s 7 of them having only 10 songs each and the other 7 having 4.7 gig’s worth

Unfortunetly the dvd mp3 doesnt work on dvd players...I have tried 5 different dvd players that all play vcd’s too

The only way to create a dvd/mp3 is to simply make a dvd video with only music on it and if you want hell throw in a visualization too so you can see something

I tried this experiment with only 40 songs and it worked great... The 40 songs play as one giant song but good ol chapters at the right time make a great feature...making a mp3dvd with over 100 songs is not good i dont feel like going through so many chapters just to get to 1 damn song...

Best part about the mp3dvd i made is that the quality is so much better than a mp3cd

There you guys go a dvd playing music while you get to watch whatever you want

does anyone know how to convert or mod a discman (doesnt have to be sony)into a dvd player? my nephew is going away on a trip that doesnt allow dvd players only cd players. How can I modify to play dvds with the headphone jack as a video out whilst still appearing to be a regular discman?

“Is there an mp3 cd player that will play data dvds too. If there is then could you tell me which ones and if not then could someone tell me the reason why it hasen’t been done yet."
I mean seriously. Why those manufacturers can not design a portable cd-player which can read mp3, cd, dvd data? Yet the design must remain the same. A device must look like a regular cd-player. C’mon just put that stupid laser-head which could read dvd too! That’s it. They did it with laptop cd-roms. Why not with cd players. I’m sure that if they wanted to do it...it would be there already.

PCWizard, your are correct but you are also confused (because they’re not explaining their problem correctly).
Let me explain it very clearly what they want and are trying to do...I know because i’ve been at this for YEARS.....

1. They want load a DVD with lots of MP3s (because it can hold more than a CD).
2. They want to be able to play this MP3 DVD in a home OR car DVD-MP3 compatible player.

The problem is that these DVD-MP3 players won’t play these types of disc. Although I have found a FEW not many, HOME DVD-MP3 players that will play these disc, however not all songs show up and i don’t know why.

I have NOT found a CAR DVD-MP3 player yet to play these types of disc. Sadly because this is the main reason why I wanted to do this in the first place. I wanted to put more MP3s in one disc.

So in the end, THERE IS NO SOLUTION AS OF YET!!!

How many Mp3 tracks can you record on a 700 meg CD

it depends on the size of the MP3’s

roughly 4meg for normal 3 min song

so 4 into 700 is about 175

just got in and found a model which plays dvd `s containing mp3`s in actual random mode.its a yamaha ,sorry didnt even get the model number but thats cause it was just a dvd not blue ray, and it was 199 plus tax canadian.
i can get my player to recognize the mp3 dvd ,but it allows only numerically sequential play. which is very annoying

....
oh deer.

Also, I have a question - How come I can’t have a baby if I put my penis into the anus of another man? Is it just not possible? Like cd players and DVD players - Just not quite compatible? Maybe if I did some RESEARCH and used things like the so’called almighty search button, for instance, google.

Come on... it’s the age of free knowledge.. this is a no brainer... even without TASB (the almighty search button)
