i’m always ready to help you with pleasuresmileywell, the output video aspect setting option can be found in the “Settings-Preference”. The default one is 4:3. If you want 16:9, please select it in the list.

16:9 is the standard ratio of height-to-width of HDTV, which enables higher definition.xilisoft does enables 16:9 dvd conversion, but 4:3 is well enough .

If you want a stress free AVI to DVD quality conversion spend a bit of money and download DVD Santa - it is the easiest and best program out there to convert

Don mess with any expensive programs, just burn your .avi-files to a dvd as a data dvd, if you have a kinda new dvd player you should be just fine.

Dannex maybe you can tell why when I burn the .avi files striaght onto a dvd without converting them, Windows, Windows Media Player, Divx Player doesn’t recognize the disc on my computer at all?!??! Serously - I just want to take 6 files that are in .avi format, burn them onto a dvd and then watch them on my computer and I can’t seem to do it. I am adding them as data to the dvd but they aren’t being burned.

I recommend you use cucu soft to burn DVD movies, it is good at burning videos to dvd movies and make them play on DVD player. It Supports DivX, XviD, AVI, VOB, .asf, .wmv, .rm, .rmvb, and .mov format as input video.

You can visit this page to learn how to use this program to burn dvds

There is an inexpensive programme put out by Cowan, Jetaudio.

http://www.cowonamerica.com/products/jetaudio/

I got this programme to use for playing karaoke files for my grandchildren.
I hade a lot of avi. files, which play on my computer, and on my dvx registered dvd player. They don’t play on my other standard dvd.
I used Nero 7 to try to burn them to dvd, but the size showed the file was great than the dvd capacity.
The avi files show anthing between 650mb to 1.2gb.
I was playing around with jet audio, and found that it converts audio and video files. Using that programme to convert them to mpeg, I found I can get 2 or three copies onto a dvd disk. The process is a little time consuming if you convert multiple files, but the end result is excellent.

There is a lot of software which can burn AVI to DvD now.
You need to compare them and choose the one that work for you.
For example: Convertxtodvd, DVD Creatoretc.
all of them can burn AVI to DVD.
Or you can read some article first:
AVI converter in order to play in dvd player
