There’s another forum all about bin/cue files.

I don’t know anything about ps2. But, if you want to convert your file to mpg or mpeg, you can use WinMpg or WinAvi, or better yet, use TMPGenc Xpress 3.0.4.24 which will convert you file and let you edit it (ie. take out commercials). Then, burn it with TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6.26.73. You can go to the Pegasys.com website, or if you use Limewire or KaAza or something like that, you might find them there too.
Good luck.
but will it lose quallity and have the divx coddec?
It’s the best there is, that’s good enough for me.
why cant the stupid winavi pos convert an avi file to a dvd file. it keeps bringing up an error message.
OK, Chris g46, when using WinAvi you have to first go into the menu and choose, “any to DVD/VCD/SVCD”. Then it brings up a new screen; here you have to make sure your destination or output file is correct. It has to have enough disk space to save a DVD file, which is probably going to be 5 to 7 GB. Also, go into advanced settings for DVD. A DVD disk can only hold 4300 MB, so you might have to split the file to fit 2 disks. There is a box to do that. You have to choose “constant video quality” to use it. Lastly, you should choose the regional format you want it to be: NTSC for North America, and PAL for Europe and Asia.
Now you should be set. Good luck.
Hi,
I downloaded 'The Little Mermaid' from Kazaa and it wouldn’t play because there was a 'codec error' i then downloaded something called DivX which allowed it to play through Windows Media Player. How do i record it on to DVD to play on a DVD player and not just the computer? I’m finding all this computer lingo really hard to understand, i though i would just have to put the disk in and press burn and it would work (apparantly not!)
Any help would be greatly appreciated as my daughter is desperate to watch it!
Thanks
Hi Rachel,
It really depends upon a few things. First, what file format did you download it in ie. mpg, avi, rm, wmv, etc? Second, what type of burner do you have ie. Nero, Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 or 7, etc? I need to know the version of the program too, not just the model. How long is the movie?
Don’t worry, it won’t be that hard once we get these basics sorted out.

HOW DO I COPY MOVIES WITH NERO 6 ULTRY.ANY BODY KNOW.WERE CAN I GET A PLUGIN ????

It depends upon the quality of the file you have downloaded. And
the file format. For instance, nero will not burn wmv or rm or mov files;
it will burn mpeg, mpg, vob, and avi. However, some avi files it will
play in a regular DVD Player, and some not. It’s a mystery.
If you use a different burner ie. Bin Artisan, you can burn any type of
file format. The thing is, you’ll be able to play it in any computer,
but not necessarily in a DVD Player.
You might want to try to convert the file to mpg or DVD (vob) file
format before burning, that should work. WinAvi is good, or there’s a
new converter out by Windows called the Digital Media Converter v2.55,
it handles everything plus the new dvr-ms format used in the Windows XP
Media Centre Edition.
Good luck, hope it all works out.
Just one more thing (yes I’m a Columbo fan), I’m still trying to find a
solution to my “DVD Squeeze” problem. It worked just fine, then I
switched over from 2000 to XP, and now it will convert for 22 mb and
stop. And I lost my original downloadable version that I bought when I
changed over so I can’t reinstall. Anyone know how to fix it or where I
can get a new copy without having to buy it again? Any help would be
much appreciated. Thanks

Hey guys, it’s me again. I have recently tried a new way to burn the movies that I have downloaded. It is called DVDSanta, and it works great. If you just want to burn your DVD without any hassles, use that program. However, use the method that I first posted if you want higher-quality movies. Thanks a lot everyone! E-mail me if you have any questions.
we can avoid converting movies 100 times to this format and that format, just invest in a dvd player witha divx codec for about 60 dollars, burn the movies as data and, poof they play perfectly without all the drama
