Lee420 Guest | Wow yall make this really harder than it needs to be. Just get a converter that does all formats like .avi .mpg .mpeg and etc. You can get them here:
www.download.com
And just convert the file and burn to a cd and your done. Convert with the one i use it takes only 30min on my amd athlon processor. i dont know why you would use so many apps when all you need is one good converter. I use record now and and can encode and burn a dvd in less than one hour.

tecnikal Guest | I convert fine. Add vob into NERO, fine. Test in Nero, and the menu works and movie plays. But everytime I burn it, and try to play it, the menu does not work. The disk will not start. Any suggestions? The menu button highlights, and nothing happens. I see that the DVD' are 4 speed, does this matter?

Wildchild Guest | I was browsing the web for how to burn a DVD out of a .AVI or other format, I came across this article first and thought it was great the Colin took his time to do a very thorough job explaining the steps.I than noticed the next post by Magnetas,wow..I have to say you are way out of line man!!Try to show some tact and appreciation..it is obvious that Colin is willing to take time out and explain things to you..I am sure a simple “How do I proceed now” would have been enough.
Thx Colin..nice job man..need more like ya on the net.

Lee420 Guest | Ok i wouldnt listen to colin as what he says is bullsh@t and the very hard way of doing it. Just get “ winavi” you can download it here:
Then all you have to do is convert the movie into dvd format using “ winavi” and once done go to nero and go to “dvd burning” and burn the disc and your done. Not that hard and you dont have to convert to mpeg2 then into .vob files, like colin said making no sense in why you would do it like this anyways. But just dl winavi and it comes with instructions. I can convert and burn a dvd in a little over a hour doing it the right way.
NOTE:You could use whatever converter you have but winavi is the fastest i’ve seen. Oh and this way is tried and tested. It works unlike colins idea!!!!!!!!

Lee420 Guest | Never asked for help. I just said hes way was very stupid and very hard. All you need is one converter and thats it. Not four apps like he said. I use to do it that way along time ago, like on win98 before converters were available. Now converters do all the work for you. Just google it and not one other person will tell you that unless you read a forum from the 90’s. All im saying is that is the hard way and really stupid to tell newbie to do it that way since they dont understand alot about this topic. Now seriously which way is easier converting it multiple times or just converting it once. I choose to convert only once and doesn’t take long at all. But hes way will work but its out dated, better and newer methods are used now.

Pappia Guest | hey i DL the winave program and I want to know if there is a way to get rid of the advertiment in the middle of the screen without buying the program?

Phoebe69 Guest | Pappia
after you have downloaded the winavi, which is a trial version, (this is why you get the nag in the middle), you must then register your copy by clicking on the “buy now” button. Then type in the following
registration name: — — — — -
Registration code: — — — — -
(just cut and paste from here).
This of course is a pirated/cracked reg code but it works.
Good Luck, hope it works, worked well for me ! Moderated 19 Mar 2008 04:50 pm by anonymous

tommyussery Guest | I have a question here. How come nobody has mentioned just using nero to convert? It is what I use i open nero and choose make a dvd video and select what movie i want to burn to dvd, be it a avi, divx, xvid, whatever. and it converts and everything automatic it take about a hour per movie. it will ask you if you want to add chapters and it has the default menu and you can download others from the nero site which I have done and you can make some pretty cool dvd’s out of you avi’s or divx whatever you have. AND ALL I USE TO DO EVRYTHING IS NERO.. is there some reason to use other programs and JUST use nero to simply burn with?

That’s cool that you are helping each other out, but giving the sernum for software that must be purchased is only going to make cool programs like that disappear in the future. The people who write that software need to eat too, and if they’re forced out of work because nobody is buying their program, but everyone’s using it, we won’t have such a neat tool to use anymore.
I’m not preaching......just saying. If you like it, buy it as soon as you can to respect the programmers who make it. I hate crapppy software too, which is why we have such neat tools at our disposal, but if we don’t support those that deserve it when we can afford to, we won’t have those programs anymore.
Just my 2 cents, and I’m not dinging anyone, because I do it too. Just for the newbies that don’t understand.
Thanks to all who contribute, whichever way you do, whether it’s one program or four. Many ways to do different things, and we all don’t have the same type of situation, so thanks to those who help out.
