I don’t know if this can help, but insteado of using 3 programs, I use 2, Xilisoft Video Creator ( This does the Mpeg2 conversion automatically and then it authoritates the file) And then I use DVD copy to burn the vob and all those files into a blank dvd... In a 1:1 ratio, so no quality loss is present..

I’m not sure about the mpeg2 automatic conversion, but as I have learnt, to burn a dvd it has to be in mpeg2 format, and I have burnt several dvd’s when it’s original file was an .avi, so I guess xilisoft does the mpeg2 conversion..

When I use NERO, and I select DVD, do I then select a DVD-ROM (ISO) or a DVD-Video?

I downloaded the WinAVI FLV converter but the username and password that had been previously posted for the WinAVI converter is not the same. does anyone know the alternative?

if you are using nero, there is an option to make a video dvd, you can select avi files there and it can automatically convert it to playable video dvd. you can also create the menu in nero. its as simple as that.

How do you get a serial number (name and code) illegal...?
I know I’m lousy, but I can’t afford to pay for it. Plus WINAvi is the only program I got to work, after trying others nonstop for two days.
I am desperate, can someone help me? :'(

I have tried Collins instruction as well.
But I only got sound and black screen. :(
WINAvi worked and it was simple. But is there a way I can use it for free and not get the logo-name in the middle of the picture?

:)

Why not try some easy tools or easy methods?
I personally think some DVD Creator is pretty good to use, easy to follow and with high edit function, you can make your own DVD on essentially.

Full retail version of Nero 8
Open Nero Vision 5
Click the following...
Make DVD
DVD Video
Add Video File (On the right)
Locate your AVI file.
Click Next
Set-up a DVD menu if you like.
Next
It will show a preview.
Click Stop on the virtual remote.
Next
BURN

That’s it. [If you have the full version of Nero 8]

I chose “do not use a menu” from the drop-down as it was a single AVI I wanted on the DVD
