I’ve done it. I have Nero 6 Ultra Edition. User NeroVision Express. Choose Make DVD. DVD Video. Capture Video. Drag the AVI into the window. Say burn. Works like a charm.

I have tried using nero 7 to create a dvd from a windows movie maker avi file. I have ruined 3 dvds now.
They play on my computer but when in a relatively new dvd player come up as no disc or disc error.

it has a booking option, that I dont understand, I changedit from automatic to DVD was that the wrong thing to do?

I had an offical copy of winavi but my computer crashed and i lost it along with the code saved to my documents. I sent them a letter asking them to research for my purchase, but they havent replied.

ConvertXtoDVD doesn’t need any extra codecs or anything. I have been converting pal and ntsc movies no problem, are you sure that really wouldnt be the easiest way to go?

You guys do it that hard way smiley All you need to do is open up your Win Dvd Maker that comes on every XP and Vista operating system (start, programs, Windows Dvd Maker), add the video file (avi, mpg, mpeg, vid...they all work), type your disc name on the bottom text box, click next, choose your menu format and all that junk, then press burn, itll take a little while but works every time! if you like it send me a message on AIM - genuinesteven

Lee420 wrote: Never asked for help. I just said hes way was very stupid and very hard. All you need is one converter and thats it. Not four apps like he said. I use to do it that way along time ago, like on win98 before converters were available. Now converters do all the work for you. Just google it and not one other person will tell you that unless you read a forum from the 90’s. All im saying is that is the hard way and really stupid to tell newbie to do it that way since they dont understand alot about this topic. Now seriously which way is easier converting it multiple times or just converting it once. I choose to convert only once and doesn’t take long at all. But hes way will work but its out dated, better and newer methods are used now.

Hi, for the new people trying to burn to dvd u can use a very simple program called dvdflick, all u have to do is drag and drop and some minor tweaking and there u go. It does everything for you and it’s easy.

Hi guys,

I have used “DivX to DVD” to convert my AVI to the DVD format viz., VIDEO_TS. As this tool converts just one file at a time, I end up having one separate VIDEO_TS folder for each and every AVI file. Now, the concern I had was, can I actually club all these VIDEO_TS folders and burn it into one DVD. Will this work? I doubt it. So, what is the solution?

Ok. I’ve found the solution. All you need is a converter that allows you to add multiple files (AVI/MPEG) before converting to the DVD format (VOB/ BUP/ IFO). And, for the frills like MENU et al, one can use editors.

Thanks to COLIN’s detailed post on the first page, I could run from a completely blank state, a rookie, to completely burning a full DVD (playable on DVD players) within 1½ hour.
