Pirate Guest | God this an old post but i found it so hopefully others will too. I finally figured out how to do the mkv to dvd flawlessly and easily.. fist i drop the mkv file into ultra vid joiner and convert to “DVD compatible mpeg2"on highest quality, with no letterboxes then when that file is finished i run convertX, i resize as needed to get the correct aspect ratio of the video, and i ALWAYS have great audio sync.

Doroma_FemaleVamp Guest | Honestly, I think the easiest way I found it to work was using VSO ConvertXtoDVD. It converts MKV to DVD and burn MKV to DVD disc. Also it enables srt subs to convert a long with it. Not to mention the edits on the main TOP MENU while designing your disc is not so shabby. Hopefully this post helps.

Vee Guest | ...so I’ve been reading everything I come across with to try and convert my .mkv file into any format that will burn to DVD really. All I want is to keep the Japanese audio (track 2) and the English subtitles. I can get convert just fine with AVS 6, I can even select the 2nd track... but I can’t manage to get the subtitles. I can’t extract them either, I’ve already downloaded everything I read and still no luck.
This is the file I’m trying to convert, it’s clean and it’s small: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VNPIRYVY
(It’s the first episode of an anime series). If someone with more experience can please take a look and maybe tell me why I can’t do what I hope to do, I would greatly appreciate it =)

I downloaded a DVD creator software last week which can convert and burn mkv file to DVD smartly. It also works for avi, mov, mpg, flv files and so on.

AhGwee Guest | I have a problem burning mkv files on DVDs. I know that converting it to an AVI file is required to do so, but after I’ve finished converting the file the subtitles which were shown on the mkv file does not show up when converted to an avi file. Can anyone help me with this mkv to avi subtitle problem?

durtyboy Guest | ChristianHJW....u are a “f*** rod”. converting a file to mkv is the dumbest thing one can do....unless u plan on watching all your movies on your computer...it is completely useless. It just requires more time to convert it to avi (divx). mmmmmmmm...so if avi is a pile of crap, why do they sell dvd players that play avi files and why do the largest home gaming systems in the world play them as well? Like i said before....ChristianHJW....u are a “f*** rod” and anyone else who loves mkv.

FUCK .mkv Guest | F_ _ k .mkv,
I have vcl, unrarx, perian, wmp, QuickTime Pro, RealPayer, handbreak, flip4mac, Adobe. How many fucking codecs to they expect us to purchase? This one plays only that, and that one wont play this, and those over there will only play these, and these will only play that. What a bunch of fags. You can all kiss my fat, white, honkey ass. Blow me!!!
Any other electronic media develops a standard that everybody agrees to, so the public can have the ability to watch everything on one unit. You’re just a bunch of greedy queers. $49.00 for this codec, $35.00 for that codec, $79.00 each for those 3 different codecs over there. PC owners must be the most gullible people on the planet. And software developers must be the greediest bunch of homos ever born. And Christian at matroska, fuck you, you elitist prick.

Jet Guest | I know this is an old post, but as it’s the first site I find when looking for burning software for mkv files, I thought I might help ppl in need who get here as I did previously.
The best burning software I could find is ConvertXtoDVD.
I’ve been using it for a moment now and never encountered a file he couldn’t convert to DVD.
This app doesn’t only convert but burns also the dvd files, ttatway you son’t need any other program than this to get a great looking DVD from one or several mkv/avi/mpeg etc videofiles.
Hope this will help.
Cheers | |
