Tigger56 Guest | I find that VisualHub burns anything to DVD. However, if you don’t have it you’ll need to find someone who has it. The company is not in existence any more, sadly, it’s a brilliant tool.

WHYDOIT Guest | Why on gods little green earth do people do this. Use mkv I mean for crying out loud Nero will take an avi or mpg file recode it so it will play on any DVD player. But some wanker decides oooohhhh I know I’ll convert it to this type of file cause it uses 20 meg less space on my terabyte drive to store a 400 meg file oooohhhh aint I clever...NOT.... now you have to use three different progs to get the same sized file onto a dvd to watch it and only if you read the instructions twice say three hail mary’s and sacrifice a virgin to the god of video......GIVE ME A BREAK......

iambaldjohn Guest | There is a lot of dead ends I have found and a lot of incorrect information. Visualhub works well, but it was discontinued and you have to download an old version, use iSerial reader for a registration code, and use littlesnitch to avoid the registration process to convert it to a useable burnable file. I have been told to use handbrake, VLC media player,.. all a pain in the ass. I found a free tool that the visualhub developers created as an open source. It can convert to single layer, as well as dual layer disks. It takes ALL video formats, and can convert to pretty much anything including DVD VTS files. FilmRedux. It is awesome, painless, and quick. it is available for free at http://st373n.blogspot.com/

aussiesam Guest | The easiest way I have found to do this is to rename the .mkv file to .avi, then burn to your dvd. I use McFunsoft Video Solution or Ashampoo Movie Shrink and Burn if the size exceeds the normal size of a blank dvd. Hope this is of some help to you.

Eve_Lawrence Guest | I stream my movies from my mac to my ps3 but the ps3 won’t read mkv files, so most of the time I convert with mokgvm2dvd but when it comes to 720 p files this does not work, I need something that works on a mac and will convert mkv to a format that will read on my ps3

XBangittyX Guest | [!] One of the video codecs installed in the system modified the video format
passed to it by VirtualDub. This indicates a codec bug that may cause the
Windows video codec system to malfunction.
What do I do about this error message that pops up when I try to load an MKV to change it to an AVI? I just installed the CCCP and Haali splitter. Do those cause problems with it? While installing, it gave me a bunch of error messages about “hacked” codecs. DivX3 and AngelPotion and a third I don’t recall. Which codec would it most likely be?
