easiest way:
use program CONVERTXTODVD to convert the .mkv file into a DVD file. Burn using any DVD burning program. My favorite is Nero 7 Premium.

Speed. Ease. No problems at all.

You can use “River Past Video Cleaner” it’s the best to convert mkv to avi
but first you got to chose which audio u want if mkv had 2 audio, so u can use “mkvtoolnix-unicode-1.6.5-setup” which analyze the movie to it’s basic ingredients' then u can unmark the audio u don’t
best to try

Have a look for ConvertX to DVD.

Drag and drop support for MKV files.

Nero 7 supports making a Video DVD from MKV files. When you add files to burn, it may not see it automatically but if you look for all file types it works. Nero transcodes before burning and it worked fine on my DVD player.

HII!!! DVD Santa sucks, from my expirience five minutes ago. Heres how I did it:

1.Downloaded dvd santa.
2.Encoded .mkv file to VIDEO_TS directory.

Heres what I got: A dvd with no picture.
Maybe I was suppose to download a codec? Thats the only thing that jumps to mind.

Hello Chipu. I tried doing everything that you stated, but when I opened the .m4a’s with Winamp, an error appeared: “Maximum number of scalebands exceeded”. Do you know what else can I do? Should I use a m4a to wav converter? Thanks.

I got one of these MKV files and all I can say is avoid them like the plague, unless you have the hours involved to get these to a DVD burning state. MKV & MATROSKA SUCK THE BIG ONE!!
Forget all this great and helpful advice don’t download any of these crap files in the first place.

Bunch of wierdos. No one acutally responded with a positive answer to the original post question. Instead just talking a bunch of jibberish no one gives a crap about.

Whats the use? Yeah you, you know I’m talking about you.

I had a movie 'Das Boot' that was in MKV format. I use a program called VSO CovertX to DVD. It converts and burns many formats.

Hope this helps, Its well worth getting. And very straight forward to use too.
