HELP...NEW....How to burn movie to DVD/Won't play on PowerDVD or DVD Player!!

Hello.....I am new here and new to burning. I have been trying to figure out how to take a downloaded movie in AVI, and burn it to DVD. I have Nero 6 Ultra, DivX to DVD, I converted the movie, I have Video_TS file. Tried to burn it and it will not play on anything! Can someone help me figure this out...I have read manuals but am totally confused with all this! Multisession?? UDF??? Etc.....Any help would be so appreciated!
I have read so much now that I am more confused than ever...don’t want to do anything that will screw up my computer! Also, I have a Dell Dim 4700 with XP, Phillips DVD+-RWDVD8631, Samsung DVD-Rom SD616E..have applied new firmware( I believe) HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dont be cheap, go out and spend the money and get the movie

buy total video converter it will convert to mpg dvd
