DVD error

I put in the disk my brother wanted to watch but it keeps on saying:playback feature may not available on this disk.Please eject the disk.I kept ejecting the disk then puting the disk back in but itstill said the same thing,so I went up stairs to my mom and she said:“Try washing the disk off"so I did then I put the disk back in the dvd player and it said the same thing again!I really need your help!please!!

Maybe you were playing dvd-r(dvd+r) discs on DVD+r(dvd-r) players. You’d better chech that.
