burnt movie does not play on dvd player

i burnt movie to disc but when i put it in my dvd player it shows as a folder and i cannot play it any answers please . i am new to this

are u using dvd-R discs if not you should use them because they play on all dvd players unlike dvd+r or dvd+rw that will only play on some

I guess that you just burn your movie as data, not MPEG2 DVD files.

DVDs,which can be played on dvd players, is encoded by MPEG2 standard. And your movie will be converted into .IFO, .VOB,.BUP files.

If you just wanna enjoy your movie on dvd player, it’s unnecessary to know details about this. There are tons of smart DVD burner, like wondershare mac video to dvd burner. They can convert video files to dvd files and burn them onto blank dvd disc by a few clicks.
