Burnt dvd won't play on dvd player (.vob file)

I am new to dvd burning and have a new dvd burner
NEC ND3550A / 16x8x16x DVD+RW / 16x6x16x DVD-RW / 8x DVD+R DL / 6x DVD-R DL / 48x32x48x CD-RW / Black / Dual Layer
I copied a dvd video to my harddrive.
I burnt to a memorex DVD+r disk.
This burnt disk plays fine on my pc, but not on a
dvd player
I get the following message:
Disk Error
Play feature may not be availible on this disk.
The original disk plays fine on a dvd player and mypc.This is a homemade video
When viewing the dvd contents i see the following
file extensions
.VOB
.BUP
.IFO
Can anyone help?

U won’t b getting any respond from here any longer s all the PROS have gone 2 another discussion 4rum..mainly @ www.videohelp.com. That site is a serious 1. B 4 movie codec is a very good site but now it has turned in2 a Crap Site.

You need to change the Book type of the DVD+R to DVD MOVIE. To do this you need a DVD bitsetting program. There is a very easy to use utility at www.drvupdate.com it’s called DVD BitSet and there is also a user guide download too.
