Burning VOB to DVD's..

There is NO program that will burn a DVDR so it will play in any standalone DVD player. Some will play in certain players, not in others, but you can’t make one guaranteed to play in all players. There are just too many codecs involved.
You only need the VOB files if you just want to watch the video and don’t care to ahve DVD menus, chapters, etc. After loading VOB files into Nero, it gives you the option of combining them all to a single file. This usually results in more compatibility among players, so I have found.

I need some help...Please. Using Super DVD Creator 9.25.I have created a VOB file from the downloaded movie, (AVI file) and put it in a folder. I now try to burn using the prog. Having selected Burn DVD to Disc then move on to the next stage, Set up Disc Burner. Add directory. Browse for folder then OK it. Now I’m prompted with the warning....Unmatched file loaded! Can anyone explain or post a link for someone who is over fifteen years old but still has some mental faculties left....for the moment anyhow. Thanks

I know I’m reviving an old thread, but jezus is a total dumbass. He complained about posting off-topic but did it himself. To those that bitch about using Google... Google links here, you know.

OK THIS IS A GUIDE TO DOWNLOAD A MOVIE AND PUT IT ON A DISC-
DOWNLOAD A TORRENT OR A P2P SOFTWARE LIKE ARES DOWNLOAD MOVIE FOR INSTANCE SPIDRERMAN.
ONCE FINISHED DOWNLOAD EITHER:
winavi- is VERY GOOD BUT REQUIRES REGISTRATION WHICH COSTS 30.00
OR.....
DVD FLICK- WHICH TAKES A WHILE.. AROUND 2 HOURS BUT IS FREE TO USE.
ONCE DOWNLOADED INSTALL THE SOFTWARE AND OPEN YOUR DESIRED FILE.
PRESUMING THE FILE IS AN AVI FILE CLICK BURN OR CONVERT AND IT WILL ASK AN OUTPUT. CHOOSE YOUR DOCUMENTS OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.
IT WILL START CONVERTING.
AFTER THAT YOU WILL EITHER
BURN USIING WINAVI OR IF U CHOSE THE FREE SOFTWARE IT WOULDVE DONE IT FOR YOU( IF NOT USE WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER)
THIS SHOULD TAKE 10-20 MINUTES. AND THERE YOU HAVE IT A BRAND NEW DVD!
TROUBLESHOOT- FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ON WINAVI THERE IS A WATERMARK?
THIS IS DUE BECUASE YOU CHOSE THE TRIAL VERSION OF WINAVI
WHAT IS A VOB FILE-
DO NOT WORRY A VOB FILE CONTAINS THE SUBTILES AND THE VIDEO FORMAT THIS IS AUTOMATICALLY DONE THROUGH THE SOFTWARE.
HOPE THIS HELPS !!!!!!!!!

A tool that works and I have used to burn VOB files is
CDBurnerXP.
It is OPEN SOURCE AND FREE.
Procedure
Open program
Click on File
Drag down to Video DVD Layout and select
A box will open
Go to VOB diles destination,
When the files show up in box, simply click button
Create Movie
It is available at http://cdburnerxp.se/download
Please donate, this is a good program. I quit using Nero once learned of this program.
The program is 100% free and believe it is Open Source.
Don’t know if the program support menus.

My DVD recorder uses DVD-RW/R disks, and my computer uses DVD+RW/R disks.

i followed advice on another webpage, which was by far the easiest solution i found. You use DVDShrink (freeware -available from download.com), even though you may not need to shrink the files at all.
You select 'load from files', select the folder with your VOBs in it, and the program does the rest, automatically making it fit a regular single layered recordable DVD. The dvd will now be a clone of the original, but at slightly compressed quality (Still good though!)
This program is also great for backing up whole DVD movies, again on recordable DVDs.
