Burning to a DVD+R

Hello I just downloaded a movie and joined the 2 parts together( its an AVI ).
Ive tried burning it many times with Nero and its failed every time.
Can someone please help me figure this out and tell me what programs to use and if I have to convert the file to something besides an avi or what ?
And what setting on Nero I should use....

My advice for you is do not join the files.Load both files in any video converter you have WinAvi or VSO DivX to DVD or Cucusoft and so on and convert both to dvd.After convertion you’re going to have a video ts folder with ifo bup and vob’s file where vob is the image for dvd.Open Nero and choose Video dvd and load the entire video ts, audio ts is empty so you don’t need it.Before you start a convertion try to play the avi on pc and if plays ok sound and picture start the convertion.Very important is to set your video system Pal or NTSC on both: converter and burning software.If you have more than one video ts folders you may use any authoring software to make only one video ts or much easier load all the vob’s in order with Nero Vision Express and burn them.The DVD player is going to play one after another.Here is a link to how to guides read and download what you need. http://www.afterdawn.com/index-menu.cfm
