Burning Movies to DVD Playing In DVD Player

Hello,

Well i have a problem and i have been having this problem for a year now and i have tried too many programs and it never works I want to take my downloaded movie and burn it onto a dvd so it will work in my dvd player

What program Is the Best?
What exactly do I have to do to accomplish This?
I need step by step instructions because i want to burn a movie on to my dvd so it will work in my dvd player
