Hey, I downloaded a movie that is 99.5% done, and there is no more of the file. My friend told me I can burn it to disk and watch it on my dvd player, if I change the file name from " Cookers.avi” to “Cookers dot (.) something something”. He cant remember what it is. Is it possible to do this? To take an incomplete avi file and sort of ' cap off the end ' so I can burn it to disk and watch it on my dvd player ( it supports avi file ). Thanks!

The downloaded incompleted AVI video may lost some data in a specific clip. You can use a video converter to trim the “bad clip” and re-encode the rest of your video.
Then burn edited video to DVD.
Just download the video converter free trial and have a try.
If you are a windows user, just search wondershare on google.

I’ll try that out. Thankyou! It’s so irratating to download a movie, and get 99% of it or more and it never finishes. The download’s health drops to 0%, and I’m stuck at 99%, or 99.8%... I can play an incomplete video ( movie etc ) on windows media just fine, but when I try to burn to disk, it’s on there, but the dvd player wont read it. Thanks alot. I’ll try it.
