Just Try DVD Creator Std, the DVD burnt from it can be played on dvd player

Maybe the DVD Player is not compatible with your DVD Disc. Reburn the video to DVD is advisable. Windows Movie Maker is not compatible with all DVD Discs, you can try this video to DVD Burner to burn your second DVD.
video to DVD
AVI to DVD
MKV to DVD
Two things to check:
- can the standalone DVD player read DVD+R media (as opposed to DVD-R)
- can it read WMV files (that’s the default output for Movie Maker)
you should find both of these bits of info in the manual (or google for the pdf version for your model if you don’t have the hard copy anymore).
I personally use Total Video2Dvd, you can try, it can converts any High-Definition video formats such as HD-DV, MKV, Blu-ray TS, TP, M2TS, AVCHD, WMV-HD, HD avi to DVD and all other popular video formats Youtube FLV, Xvid avi, Mov, Rmvb, Rm, Divx, Wmv, Asf, VOB, DV, 3gp, Ogm, Mpeg, Mpeg4, AVI to DVD formats.
