When I open the GSPOT I get this error message below,

Warning: DirectShow crashed while GSpot was attempting to obtain information about a codec.

This is usually due to damaged, misconfigured, conflicting, or poorly written codec drivers. It is possible, perhaps even likely, that other media players will crash when they attempt to play this file as well, as most of them will also use DirectShow. GSpot was able to intercept the crash, and has attempted to identify the codec or filter involved; uninstalling or reinstalling this codec or filter may solve the problem.

The codec was tentatively identified as:

Unknown video codec #17

Next time write more infos about the file you try to play. Here is a link for audio codec tag 17 click on it and read the instructions. Before you do that check if you have install any codecs pack like All in One DivX and Xvid. For audio AC3 filter is a must. All from the above are on this site and free. http://www.free-codecs.com/guides/Audio_Tags.htm It’s good to have video players like VLC and BSplayer or Media Classic.
