thousands 'ms' codec for MAC in quicktime

I’m using quicktime to play an avi file but the audio won’t work, and in the inspector " thousands 'ms' " codec shows up. I’m guessing this is the audio codec that i’m missing but where can i find this codec? i’ve tried dling ac3 but it still wont work...

maybe the problem is quicktime doesn’t support the audio codec format of your avi file
