Tag 255 / FF

I have an .avi file that I can’t seem to get to play sound. Windows Media Player tells me I need an audio codec FF, while DivX says I need some audio codec Tag 255... I can’t seem to find either so if anyone could help out I’d be very thankful.

I’m having the same problem. I NEED this codec! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I recently got a movie file off the internet and when I try to play it back on the windows media player, it didn’t work. so then I tried my divix player, when I did that, it said: " the video file you are opening includes audio data that is not recognized by the divix player." then it says I need to download audio tag 255. I have looked all over the net for that tag and it doesn’t seem to be anywhere. There is a tag 256 but not 255. What should I do and where can i get the audio tag 255?

What can I say, I’m speachless............AngryGerbil, you have saved my life, and I am so grateful. I have been looking for a codec for 2 months now, and nothing worked til I tried 3ivx, and I just wanted to add may God Bless you for your help. Thanks again.

the only thing that sucks about 3ivx.com is that their codec is only free for a 30 day trial...

hey i need some help i have some vids that are .dvd and i meed the ff codec but when i get it from 3ivx it moves the audio ahead of the vid any ideas help me email me

just go to:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm
and download the package.
www.3ivx.com sucks cause its only trial for 30 days...
here u can get it for free without limitations.
I personally unchecked all the the boxes in the installation wizard and just checked boxes where
3ivx appaears or ACC (i think its about 3-4 boxes)
And the sound work ^_^ than

I LOVE YOU!!!!!!! I spent a month downloading the entire series of Full Metal Panic, and I oculdn’t find that codec anywhere, thenk you sooo much!!
