hi all...
ok here is my problem (its though one):
one day suddenly all my videos (mpg, divx, xvid, ogg) did’nt work anymore. every player (bsplayer,Media Player, Koolplayer) except VLC Player (which comes along with its own codecs) gave out a failure notice and refuse to play any video files.
a few days later, I reinstalled the WM9codec pack from microsoft and new Catalyst driver. from 5.11 - 6.1
now all my videos work again BUT (and thats the wicked thing) no sound. it dosnet care which audio codec the files uses, i won’t work. But Winamp and VLC still work normal with sounds!!
i reinstalled AC3 codec, xvid, divx. no differnce, no sound.
i need help guys :-)
thanks, and cheers
have you tried using gspot, this not only tells you what video codecs a video needs and wether you have them or not,it will also say what audio codecs are needed
yes i have tried it. all the necessary audio codecs are listed (“you have 2 audio codecs which are supported”
it tells me that there should be no problems
but if i render the file with gspot, an error ocurres. “the audio steam is a not supported format.
it looks like, the error is somewhere between my audiocodecs an the players...
I had the same problem. According to gspot I had all compatible codecs installed but still a render failure. No sound for movies, independent of the audio stream format. WinAmp worked perfectly, so I thought it had something to do with the communication between codec and WM player.
After re-installing the codecs and the WM player(which did not help) I’ve just updated the sound drivers (Realtek ALC850) of an asus A8N-E motherboard and now it works fine!
Hopyfully this works for you too.
