I am using Windows Vista (Home Premium). I have been encountering problems with the MP3 codec. I’m trying to capture gameplay footage from my console to my laptop with a USB device and VirtualDub. I’m currently using the Xvid MPEG-4 codec to compress the video, however I am unable to compress the audio for some unknown reason. The MPEG-3 codec is listed, but when I select it I am not given a list of audio settings, and I cannot compress the audio because of this. I think this may be something to do with Windows Vista, does anyone have an alternative?

Thanks,
Thomas
