four CC 2000 codec

i get a error message if i try to play a file in windows media player, it says i need a codec four CC 2000 to play the file but i cant find it anywhere? does anyone else know where it is please?

I found this on another site. It worked for me

“The “Four CC 2000 codec” is missing on your machine.
Just google for “AC3 codec” and download it.
After installing, your problem will be fixed and you can hear the sound.
In case it is much to silent, just klick on “AC3Filter Config” in the start menu.
There you have to max “Master” in the “Gain” table.
Restart your movie player and enjoy...

sorry for bringing up an old thread, but, i downloaded the AC3 codec, but its still not working and i can’t find the AC3 config please help

woops i downloaded the AC3 Filter, is that different from the codec?
