Error code: C00D10D1

i have exactly the same problem as Irishguy same thing comes up i tried to Download the AC3 Filter but there was nothing wrong with my sound it is my Video i can’t see anything

Any smaller 1..its 17.5mb and is very hard for modem users to download...

So i am having a problem with finding a codec. It says 'You’ve encountered an error message C00D10D1 while using Windows Media Player” So i go to wmplugins.com only for it to tell me that “The codec you are missing is not available for download from this site. You might be able to find it on another site by searching the Web for “2” (this is the WaveFormat or FourCC identifier of the codec."

I dont know where to find the codec or even download it. HElP PLEASE!!!

I downloaded and ran the ac3filter, but it still didn’t work. With a little research, it looks like this codec only works for certain extensions like *.avi and *.mpeg, but my video is a *.asf. Is there another codec out there that handles this error for *.asf files?

you all get the problem when you try and watch something. Why am i getting the codec problem when i try to listen to something?

I downloaded the ac3filter after i had the C00D10D1 error code. I want to watch my .avi files that i uploaded from my camera, but dowloading hasn’t solved anything...anyone help? x

Download and run GSPOT!!!!!

I have had the same problem for weeks and have surfed every article I could find re this issue in WMP 11 for all of my audio files that says I have a missing codec. Nothing suggested including Microsofts “solutions” worked. I ran across a website that suggested dloading an analysis tool called GSPOT that will check to see if codecs are available for a named audio file. All I did was point to an audio file that I previously could not play due to this Error code: C00D10D1
and BINGO I can now play EVERYTHING AGAIN!!

Apparently this tool does much more than just see if a codec is installed.

You can dload the GSPOT.exe form this website:

Be sure to do an extract of the 4 files to a folder and run the exe from there. It will not execute from the zip file. when it is opened simply use the browse function to point to an audio file that won’t play due to the C00D10D1 error in WMP 11.

This fixed all of my playback errors by just naming ONE .wav file. Nothing else I have tried worked including uninstalls and re-installs of WMP, systemm restores, reinstall of AUDIGY software drivers, dloading codec pks, etc.

recently my files which are in avi format have stopped playing. They had al previously played in medi aplayer, and i had transferred half of them onto dvd. However now i am only getting sound but no picture. This had happened at first but i downloaded a codec and they worked but now they no longer work, i have downloaded gspot, and it says the codec is installed...... what shall i do?
