i cant play the media file by windows media player. it says that i dont have dolby ac3 2000 codec. tried to go to the link http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/ac3filter/ac3filter_0_70b.exe?use_mirror=superb

I’m some the DC in the US. My windows Media Player needed the AC3 (2000) but the original site posted in this website wasn’t working at first. The site kept automatically downloading from the webpage listed in this site. I revisited the site and clicked “download” under the closes region listed and it took me to the following site:

That totally worked for me. So if the site doesn’t work, try choosing downloadable location closest to your region.

I downloaded the file. And installed it too. But the file still plays without audio.. and it still says that I don’t have the codec installed. Someone.. please help.

i read everyones postings and i used one of the links to get the ac3 2000 codec (which i might add took me 7 hours to find what the problem was and then find the codec through this site and then finally download it) but as i am pretty much computer illiterate i do not know who to contact or how to find out how to fix my new problem. so i am hoping someone who used the same codec might of had the same problem. my video is playing slower than my audio by about 30 seconds. can anyone help????

Hey I Dled the codec, and it works, but the sound comes in very faint. Anything i can do to make it louder? I tinkered with volume settings on my computer but it doesnt seem to work
