AVI won't play sound GSPOT says three codecs say they can

I got a movie in AVI format and tried to play it, exept sound does not work no matter what i do.
when i opened the movie in gspot i got this

4cc DX50/divx
name divx 5.0
stat 2 compatible codec intaled

audio
codec 0x0055(MP3) ID’d as MPEG-1 Layer 3
stat 3 compatible codec intaled

when i click render it says
video path
(S) — > AVI Splitter — > ffdshow MPEG-4 Video Decoder — > (R)
audio path
when i click details it tells me no audio hardware,
but i can watch pretty much everything else no problem
Whats going on?

same exact problem with audio codec 0055. somebody please help us!
