Hi, apparently everyone is praising this AC3-download, so I might check it out ...

My problem relates to “The incredibles”-the movie. This file is .avi and is splitted into CD1 and CD2. Now, on my pc it works just fine, i ran it on “Windows Media Player 10”. A while ago I tried to play it on my fathers laptop but it was awfull! No error, no sound ...!
Thats not so bad, but I am the expert here at home when it comes to movie-stuff, and everyone was ready to watch the movie (even upto drinks and nibble stuff)... So I kinda made a fool out of myself, and that feels bad ...

The laptop was hooked up to the TV-screen by S-video, and at the beginning there wasn’t anny movement on the TV-screen. Everything was visible on the screen (the desktop, media player, and so on) but there wasn’t any movie playing (on the laptop-screen the movie WAS playing!).

I “magically” fixed the video-problem (means that I don’t know how I fixed it), but the sound-problem remains. I checked normal music from .MP3 and it works fine.

Recently I tried to download the AC3 v1 and it gave an error upon installation. So I would be glad to check this link out, like A.Swartzenegger would say ... I’ll be back!

Well, I’m proud to tell u that it worked!

I installed it, did some changes to the settings, tried to play it, and it worked, no questions asked ...

I thank everyone for this forum, else I wouldn’t be able to solve this pain in the but.

So we all watched the movie, on the TV-screen, with sound and picture. (and opened another bag of popcorn smiley ).

Bye for now! Thanks!

hi,

thanks. it worked as a magic! man, you r great, thanks. i was struggling with a avi file with video as xvid codec, the video was great, but sound was missing. i did n no. of things, no go. updated divx codec, tried to update the real player, windows media player, tried to play the file in another player, didnt work. never realized that the solution was so simple.

well, thank you again.

could u tell me that why the file was not playing before, missing codec or some other problem?

mayur.

YEESSSSSSSSSS, FINALY WORKS, i download a full movie and i couldnt get the sound to work, its strange but sound could work on videos i downloaded, but if its a full movie or if u play a dvd u put in ur PC, sound just didnt come out, tried downloading all these Codecs and stuff, turns out all i needed was this AC3 filter thing, amazing, if u have other troubles get the program Gspot, thats also how I figuered it was sum AC3 thing cause Gspot tells u all about audio and video of the file u select, and i saw AC3, so once i saw ac3filter i know this was it.
