To solve problem 'tag 8192':

GOTO:
http://www.free-codecs.com/AC3_Filter_download.htm

DOWNLOAstraight
[ AC3Filter 1.01a RC5 ]

It worked for me and now I can watch my newly downloaded '24'. Can’t wait.

The DivX site also has a download still, and it is compatible with Windows XP.

the following on tag 8192:
DivX payer doesn’t play sound on my compu (i have windows XP) with -, i haven’t tried any others yet!!
windows media player does playback sound, but that was after i installed vorbis ogg!!
so i don’t know if it willalso run without the .ogg.

try it and see, but as i say, one programme doesn’t playback sound, the other does.

VLC player works with everything and is always my last resort to make sure a file doesnt work before i delete it. seems to work with everything.

enjoy.

You know i always read forums about movies and codecs, and i have downloaded divx codecs, nimo, and each additional codecs that are needed if missing. If none of them work its usually a bad file therefore there is nothing you can do but get a new file. Also for most movies divx player or real player mostly plays them well, the rest always has some problems with it so its best not to mess with it.
