audio codec 0x0055 (MP3) MPEG-2 Layer 3

g-spot says i need 0x0055(MP3) ID’d as MPEG-2 Layer 3 ive tried several searches cant figure out where to download it. can anyone help

I recently got a new computer and it had quicktime on it. I used it a few times and i had to get a codec to make it work. And it had sound but now i downloaded from another website and i dont get sound but yet it works for the other quicktime downloads. It says i need SVQ 3 and i cant find it to download. Im really not sure what is going on with it cause u would think if it works with some files it should work with all files.....but i guess not. So if anyone can help me i would appreciate it. thanks

I could be wrong, but I think you may be using an outdated version of QuickTime before the Sorenson 3 codec was made. (SVQ3 is Sorenson Video 3). If that’s the case download the latest version (currently 6.5.2) of QuickTime from the Apple web site.
