Am I really having a codec issue?

posted in Audio Codecs, viewed 1075 times

I went to pull movies off of my new digital camcorder.

When I went to play them in Windows media player it said I didn’t have the correct codec. It advised me to download ffdshow codecs. So I did, now it will play in media player.

I am trying to get all snazzy and use windows movie maker to add titles and things like that, but when I play the video, the video does not show up. The audio plays clearly though.

I noticed when playing video in media player, two icons come up in my task bar. One for video codec, and one for audio codec, however, when I go to play it in Windows Movie maker, it only shows the audio codec in the task bar. Does anyone know how I can get the video to show up as well??>

Thank you in advance,

Actually, you can download a video converter, which can re-encode your video with wmm aceptable format.
